What is your experiences within Intersect and Cardano?

Kenric Nelson is President and Founder of Photrek, LLC which is an institutional member of Intersect. Photrek has completed pioneering research for Cardano on improving community decision-making. My accomplishments include running an ITN stakepool, successful execution of approximately a dozen Catalyst projects, serving on Catalyst Circle v2, publishing reviews of CIP-1694 governance, designing the Sociocratic Pluralism governance which seeks to establish high-quality processes for blockchain ecosystems, and contributing to the launch of the L∀LKUL DREP. On the Intersect Governance Working Group I have briefed the team on how consent decision making can improve outcomes in a manner similar to scientific peer review. For Catalyst, Photrek is currently a subcontractor to Input Output Global to evaluate the implementation and impact of using plural voting.

The Photrek team is committed to supporting the success of Intersect. To build an international team we have established Working Partner contracts that provide team members with the flexibility of an independent contractor and the commitment of portable benefits and indirect expenses to establish long-term coordination. Our Working Partners are serving Intersect in the roles of Board Observer (Juana Attieh), Civics Committee leadership (Jose Gambao, Eystein Hansen), and Members Committee Chair (Juana Attieh).

What are your pledges and plans should you be elected?

I pledge to dedicate an average of 30 hours per month to the Intersect Steering Committee, ensuring active participation in driving forward key objectives. My primary focus will be on supporting the development of effective governance structures that align with Cardano’s decentralized ethos. Additionally, I will work to foster collaboration within the Cardano ecosystem, promoting open-source initiatives and scalable solutions. By leveraging my background in governance, engineering development, and system dynamics, I plan to contribute to Intersect’s goal of enhancing community-driven decision-making and exceptional technological advancement toward the development of a world-class blockchain ecosystem.

Why should the community vote for you?

The Intersect community should vote for Kenric to serve on the Steering Committee because I bring a strong blend of governance and technical expertise that aligns with Intersect’s strategic goals. My experience in facilitating effective decision-making processes ensures that all voices are heard and decisions are well-considered. In addition, my skills in strategic planning and budget analysis will help the committee balance innovation with practical execution. I am committed to ensuring consistent and meaningful contributions to Intersect’s mission and the broader Cardano ecosystem.

Do you have any other Cardano affiliations or possible conflicts of interests, including you as an individual or an enterprise you are associated with?

Photrek is Kenric Nelson’s only affiliation. Photrek is sponsored by the Catalyst program as described in the next question but the programs Photrek is building are in alignment with the Intersect’s goals to build a successful ecosystem.

Are you currently in receipt of or previously received any Intersect or Cardano funding or grant?

Photrek does not currently have funding from Intersect. Photrek is currently performing on two F11 and two F12 projects. Our F11 projects are a subcontract to IOG on Alternative Voting Methods and prime contract to develop and launch the Sociocratic DREP, L∀LKUL. Our F12 projects are a prime contract to develop an AI Assistance for DREP governance and a subcontract to TrustLevel to improve the Catalyst proposal review process.
