## Decisions/Actions

**Decisions**

* **Approval of Proof of Concept (PoC):** The committee decided to pursue a small PoC for the "Marketing DAO" with a limited budget for this year rather than a full integration.
* **Travel Budget Parameters:** Agreed on a budget framework for 3–5 events, covering a maximum of 5 people per event, with specific caps for tickets ($3,000) and accommodation ($250/night).
* **Summit Location & Strategy:** Confirmed the 2024 Cardano Summit will be held in Singapore (October 5–6) to coincide with Token 2049 to consolidate travel and maximize attendance.
* **Treasury Refund Policy:** Agreed that any unused travel funds from the requested budget will be returned to the Cardano Treasury.
* **Submission Timeline:** Set an internal deadline of April 10th to have the budget document finalized and triple-checked.

**Actions**

* **Lara:** Review and increase the travel budget (potentially up to $25k) to account for the projected 60% increase in aviation fuel costs.
* **Lara:** Check with other committees and Intersect for an official ADA/USD conversion rate to use in the proposal.
* **Laura:** Reach out to Logan to inform him the committee is looking at a PoC model with a limited budget for the marketing execution arm.
* **Laura:** Contact Sam (Product Committee) to schedule a meeting regarding overlapping Business Development (BD) and growth initiatives.
* **Lara:** Consult with Lorenzo (Head of Product) about creating a visible space on the Intersect website or Discord to map all committee roadmaps.
* **Committee Members:** Review the shared proposal document on Discord, specifically the sections highlighted for "KPI/Metric" and "Section 2: Alignment to Strategy."
* **Musa:** Provide information to the committee regarding major blockchain events in Africa to ensure regional inclusivity in future marketing plans.

| Topic                            | Discussion                                                                                                                                                    | Notes                                                                                                         |
| -------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Aviation Fuel & Travel Costs | Lara and Reshan discussed the global 60% increase in aviation fuel prices. Reshan noted flight prices have already doubled or tripled in some regions. | Budget estimates for travel must account for these significant price hikes. |
| GMC Proposal Document | Lara is drafting the proposal for the GMC budget. Laura suggested skipping sections meant for larger budgets, such as "track records," to keep it concise. | Focus on essential KPIs and objectives only. |
| ADA/USD Conversion Rate | The committee debated which ADA conversion rate to use for the budget. Suggestions ranged from 0.20 to 0.25 based on current market rates. | Lara will check with other committees (like OSC) to see if a standard rate has been centrally decided. |
| Marketing DAO (Logan’s Proposal) | Yoram explained the Cardano Builder DAO (CB DAO) model as a decentralized mechanism for project evaluation and funding. | The committee is considering a Proof of Concept (PoC) for the Marketing DAO with a limited budget this year. |
| Marketing Strategy vs. Execution | Laura emphasized the need for a strategic framework. The DAO could act as the "execution arm" while the committee sets the high-level pillars. | Avoid overlapping with existing agency contracts; keep the DAO as an experimental pilot. |
| DRep Education | Wes highlighted the need to educate DReps on why marketing is vital so they vote for treasury funding. | The committee needs to move away from "voting in Discord/Google Meets" to more formal processes. |
| GMC Travel Budget Details | Lara proposed a budget for 3–5 events, 5 people per event, with $3,000 tickets and $5,000 for accommodation. | Initial estimate is $20k–$25k. Unused funds will be returned to the Cardano Treasury. |
| Travel KPIs | Yoram suggested adding external KPIs, such as "new contacts made" or "bringing Cardano to new regions," rather than just internal metrics. | Lara will align these KPIs with the two strategic pillars selected in the document. |
| Budget Submission Deadlines | Terence confirmed the publishing date for the Intersect budget process is April 16th. | The GMC document must be finalized and triple-checked by April 10th. |
| Inter-Committee Coordination | Laura and Yoram expressed concern over overlapping efforts between GMC, Product, and Enterprise committees, specifically regarding Business Development (BD). | Laura will reach out to Sam to align roles and prevent "reinventing the wheel." |
| Centralized Roadmap | Laura suggested a central space on the Intersect website to view all committee pillars/roadmaps at a high level. | Lara will check with Lorenzo (Head of Product) regarding website updates for member transparency. |
| Regional Inclusivity (Africa) | Musa (Community Member/Civic Committee) urged the GMC to include underrepresented regions, specifically Africa, in marketing strategies. | Laura requested Musa share info on major African blockchain events for future planning. |
| Cardano Summit 2024 & Token 2049 | The 2024 Summit will be consolidated with Token 2049 in Singapore (Oct 5–8) to leverage the 25,000+ expected attendees. | Venue is already secured using $300k revenue from last year. Discounts will be available for Cardano members. |
| Community Engagement | Thyme suggested hosting side events during Token 2049 and providing discounted tickets as a "member value" add. | The team is currently working on bundled ticket packages for the Summit and Token 2049. |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://committees.docs.intersectmbo.org/intersect-growth-marketing-committee/meeting-minutes/2026-meeting-minutes/meeting-minutes-03-31-2026.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
