Executive Summary
The Open Source Committee’s in-person attendance at the Cardano Summit in November 2025 delivered clear governance, program, and partnership value. With at least three OSC members present, the committee was able to reinforce institutional relationships, gather high-quality ecosystem intelligence, clarify OSC programs and processes, and initiate a concrete partnership pathway with STORM Partners that is now progressing in alignment with the Accelerator Program.
Both collective outcomes and individual After Action Reports demonstrate that Summit attendance functioned as an extension of the OSC’s governance, stewardship, and program development responsibilities, not merely outreach or representation.

Executive Summary
Q1 2026 event attendance by Open Source Committee (OSC) representatives delivered measurable governance, program, and ecosystem value across multiple geographies and audience segments. Participation at BuidlerFest Argentina, FOSDEM/CHAOSScon EU, Game Developers Conference, and Cardano Africa Tech Summit (CATS) extended OSC’s role beyond representation into active program validation, ecosystem intelligence gathering, and strategic pipeline development.
Across all events, a consistent pattern emerged: POSM is understood as a differentiated and necessary model, but requires continued refinement in positioning, intake mechanisms, and developer-facing clarity. Attendance to these events functioned as an operational extension of OSC mandate—directly informing program evolution, strengthening institutional relationships, and expanding contributor and partner pipelines.
Q2 2026 Benefit Report: Event Attendance (OSC)
The Open Source Committee agreed to attend and sponsor the Open Source Summit in North America (Minneapolis, 2026). Since a sponsored event carries additional cost beyond simple travel, this was the only event attended in Q2.
Summary
Open Source Summit 2026 reinforced the growing importance of open collaboration, sustainable funding models, and responsible technological innovation across the global open source ecosystem. Representing the Open Source Office alongside members of the Open Source Committee (OSC), the delegation participated in a broad range of technical and strategic discussions that directly align with Cardano’s evolving open source strategy and long-term ecosystem goals.
Across the week, artificial intelligence emerged as one of the dominant themes of the conference. Discussions surrounding AI infrastructure, governance, licensing, model transparency, and sustainable computing highlighted the increasing pressure placed on open source communities to balance innovation with accountability. These conversations strongly resonated with ongoing work within the Cardano ecosystem, particularly around transparent governance, sustainability, and the need to preserve community ownership within rapidly evolving technology sectors.
