# August 29, 2024

The Parameter Committee (interim state) meets on a tri-weekly basis. It discusses all parameters relating to the Cardano protocol including network, technical, economic and governance parameters, providing technical advice and recommendations on updatable parameter settings.

**Remit**

The purpose of the Parameter Committee is to provide technical advice and recommendations relating to the updatable protocol parameters, taking into account economic, security, network and other technical considerations, as appropriate to protect the long term sustainability of the Cardano blockchain.

* PCP003 (Plutus Script Limits)
  * The committee received a detailed presentation from the IOE Performance & Tracing team.  The evidence presented shows that there is scope for increasing either or both the Plutus script memory unit and/or Plutus script CPU execution limit.  The community requirements will be assessed and benchmarks conducted to confirm the impact of specific new settings.<br>
* Response on ‘k’
  * The response has been completed and circulated to the community.  Feedback is being incorporated and will be addressed in a revised version<br>
* Parameter Committee Remit
  * The committee will pass on the previously agreed remit and other documentation to the Intersect board.

The next meeting will consider:

* How to progress PCP003 - concrete recommendations
* The new process for parameter updates
* Requests by the Civics Committee to review guardrails etc
* The Technical Rationale for the Guardrails
* Elections Process for domain experts
